The Dogwood Cross Story: As legend would have it, the dogwood tree was known as the strongest, most stately tree in Biblical times. For that reason, it was used to make the cross that Christ was crucified on. After His crucifixion, the dogwood tree never grew the same. Instead, it was transformed into a smaller tree, with long, wispy branches that held a blossom. To this day, the dogwood blooms in the shape of a cross with a crown of thorns in it’s center. It’s a constant reminder of the price paid, transformation made and grace we were given.
Romans 5:8 “But, God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
